Slow Match rejuvenation?

I have a slow match that is several years old now. It still works, but is quite dry.
Is there a way to rejuvenate it, or do I need to just purchase a new one?
Thanks.

Bulk water storage question

Hello! I'm researching chemical stabilizer options for 250 gal water tanks. Saw an impressive kit at PrepperFest AZ awhile back but can't find that contact. Hoping to avoid cost of purchasing multiple kits meant for smaller (e.g. 55 gal) tanks. Other than straight Clorox, any suggestions?

Re: Ammunition Storage

I often remove the tray from the factory box, cut off the box end flap and then vacuum pack them together before placing in storage. A chamber-type vacuum sealer was one of the best purchases I ever made.

Shelter Training

Just took Blackthorn's course on emergency shelters. My 17 y/o son and I had a blast, and we were able to fill in several knowledge gaps. The instruction was top notch. Winds were as forecast by the Wx-guessers but that made for better testing of tarp setups. Our GetHomeBags and vehicle preps will b...

Need liquid storage poly tanks

Does anyone have a lead on new or used IBC (or other) tanks?
I'm looking for an affordable source and no toxic residue.
Thanks!

Solar Ovens

I've been researching the All-American Solar Oven after listening to a recent preparedness podcast. Does anyone in the Blackthorn community have experience w/ this unit? Apparently pasteurization of water (minimum 156F x 6 minutes) is adequate for most uses including rehydrating typical foodstuff. T...

Re: Yo Yo Reel Fishing

I would often go out with a college buddy to run his yo-yos. We'd hang approx. 50 along rivers in central Louisiana using a seriously antique jonboat. What worked best was to tie hooks directly to 12" of 12-20# mono and attach the leader to the yo-yo snap swivel using a closed swivel. The reduced vi...

Manual Back-Up Water Well Pumps

Does anyone have first-hand experience with manual system(s) to bypass non-functioning submersible pumps? I'm interested in buying the Simple Pump kit. The Bison system is VERY expensive.

Newbie from ICT

Hello! I'm looking forward to great times and tremendous learning through the Blackthorn community. My (last at home) son and I are big in Scouting and veterans of multiple high-adventure treks including Philmont and the boundary waters. I do Retina and ocular trauma to pay the bills so I hope you d...
